A descendent of a well-known six generation musical family from Morocco, Azulai was raised in Israel within the tradition of Andalusian music. His father, Yeshua Azulai (RIP), the famous violinist and legendary kamanja artist, taught him the basics of Andalusian music as well as his mastery of the oud and the tar. Azulai is considered an expert in Andalusian classical and folk music. He is responsible for selecting the repertoire for the various programs of the Andalusian Orchestra Ashdod, as well as for senior liturgical performers and artists worldwide. Azulai holds a BA in special education and a MA in educational management.
